Van Nuys

Van Nuys was a town founded in 1911. It is in the central region of the San Fernando Valley. This town is bordered by North Hills, Panorama City, Valley Glen, and Sherman Oaks. There are approximately 110,747 residents as of 2008. Van Nuys is expressed to be moderately diverse and is 8.99 square miles. Movies have been filmed on the streets of Van Nuys.

 

Parks

There are many parks available in Van Nuys. The parks include playgrounds, tennis courts, basketball courts, and other activities. Auditoriums are also available with a capacity of 420 people. The parks provide picnic table and barbecue pits which is a great place to spend time with family and friends.

 

Education

Van Nuys has many schooling options with twelve public, one charter, and six private schools. There top schools are Kester Avenue Elementary, Valley Alternative Magnet, Van Nuys Senior High, and Lashon Academy. The top rated is Kester Avenue Elementary School at a 9/10 rating.

Transportation

The 405 freeway is easily accessed  by Van Nuys residents. The Orange Line Metro is also available for everyone. There are alternating trips from Chatsworth or Warner Center and North Hollywood Metro Station to downtown Los Angeles.  Located in this neighborhood is the Van Nuys Airport. It is a public airport used by Hollywood celebrities, politicians, and executives. Major airlines do not fly into this airport.
